Donate to The GIDA Initiative to help more far-flung areas in the Philippines
Terminology
Stands for Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas. These are communities that are physically and socio-economically excluded from the mainstream society.
According to the DOH, NCR & DUG Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-01, GIDAs are areas that are hard to reach due to geographical separation including islands and mountainous areas in the Philippines.
The GIDA Initiative is an effort to help these far-flung areas gain access to quality healthcare.
It aims to achieve this through providing infrastructure, creating support networks, and raising awareness.
Three-Pronged Strategy
TGI provides Assisted Video Consultation Rooms in far-flung areas. These grant access to volunteer doctorsassisted by a health worker on-site.
We enlist volunteer doctors and secure connectivity to ensure reliable medical consultations and prescription processing via satellite units.
We use digital platforms to share progress, updates on installations, and reports regarding meetings with local and private sectors.
GIDA Updates
Successfully provided Assisted Video Consultation Rooms.
Infrastructure planning for consultation rooms is underway.
Completed training for local medical personnel.
We are continuously expanding our reach to new communities.
